Custom orthotics are prescription medical devices made from a precise mold or digital scan of your foot — designed to correct your specific biomechanical imbalances. Unlike generic insoles, custom orthotics address the exact deviations in your foot mechanics that are contributing to pain in your feet, ankles, knees, hips, or lower back. The foot is the foundation of the entire kinetic chain — correcting it at the base often resolves pain far higher up.
How it works
Your provider performs a biomechanical assessment of your gait, foot posture, and lower extremity alignment. Pressure mapping and functional testing identify how your foot mechanics are influencing the rest of your body. A precise mold or digital scan is taken of your foot in the corrected position. Your custom orthotics are fabricated to hold this correction throughout the day — redistributing pressure, supporting the arch, and restoring normal alignment from the ground up.
Who is it for?
Plantar fasciitis; flat feet (overpronation); high arches (supination); knee pain related to patellar tracking; IT band syndrome; hip and lower back pain with a postural component; runners and athletes; anyone whose foot mechanics are contributing to musculoskeletal pain.
Who is it not for?
Patients whose pain has no biomechanical or postural component; those with purely neurological foot conditions (modified assessment available).

Do I need orthotics in every pair of shoes?
Ideally yes — for shoes you spend significant time in. Most orthotics are designed to transfer between shoes easily. We discuss practical fit and usage strategies at your fitting appointment.
