Physical Medicine

Getting you back to full function — not just pain-free

Physical medicine encompasses therapeutic modalities and rehabilitative techniques used to reduce pain, restore function, and accelerate healing. At Lynnwood Trinity Clinic, physical medicine is integrated into your treatment plan alongside chiropractic, acupuncture, and massage — providing a comprehensive approach that addresses both the structural cause and the soft tissue environment surrounding it.

How it works

Modalities are selected based on your specific condition. Therapeutic ultrasound delivers deep heat to promote tissue repair and reduce inflammation. Electrical stimulation (E-stim) interrupts pain signals and stimulates muscle contractions. Cervical or lumbar traction decompresses disc spaces and nerve roots. Rehabilitation exercises restore strength, stability, and movement patterns to prevent recurrence.

Who is it for?

Disc herniation and degeneration; nerve compression; soft tissue injuries; post-injury rehabilitation; chronic musculoskeletal conditions; patients needing structured strengthening alongside manual therapy.

Who is it not for?

Active infection or open wounds in treatment area; certain pacemakers (E-stim contraindicated); pregnancy (certain modalities); malignancy in treatment area.

Build Your Protocol

Your body has more than one concern. Your protocol should too.

How is physical medicine different from physical therapy?

Physical therapy is typically a standalone referral-based service. Physical medicine at our clinic is integrated directly into your chiropractic and pain management plan — modalities, exercises, and manual therapies are combined in the same visit for a more efficient and comprehensive treatment.

Is it covered by insurance?

Many physical medicine modalities are covered by insurance when medically necessary. We bill most commercial insurance plans directly. Contact us to verify your specific coverage.

Will I be given home exercises?

Yes — a home exercise program is a key part of your care plan. What you do between visits significantly impacts how quickly and completely you recover and how long your results last.
