Hormone Testing & Balancing

When your body feels like it's working against you

Hormonal imbalance is one of the most common and most under-diagnosed contributors to fatigue, weight gain, mood instability, poor sleep, low libido, and cognitive decline — affecting both women and men. Our naturopathic hormone assessment goes beyond a single TSH or estradiol test — we evaluate the full hormonal picture including estrogen metabolism, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, 4-point cortisol, and comprehensive thyroid function (TSH, free T3, free T4, reverse T3, thyroid antibodies).

How it works

After a thorough intake and symptom review, we order a comprehensive hormone panel. Results are interpreted using functional optimal ranges — not just standard 'normal' ranges — to identify imbalances that explain your symptoms even when conventional tests appear 'normal.' A personalized protocol is then built, which may include bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT), targeted supplementation, adaptogen therapy, dietary changes, and lifestyle optimization. Follow-up testing confirms your response.

Who is it for?

Women in perimenopause or menopause; PMS and PMDD; irregular cycles or hormonal acne; men with low testosterone symptoms (fatigue, low libido, muscle loss); thyroid symptoms with 'normal' TSH; adrenal dysfunction; weight gain unresponsive to diet and exercise; anyone suspecting hormonal contributors to their health concerns.

Who is it not for?

Hormone-sensitive cancers (breast, prostate, uterine) — modified assessment and approach available; pregnancy; active thrombosis (discuss with provider).

My doctor said my hormones are normal. Why do I still feel terrible?

Standard lab ranges are designed to detect disease — not to identify optimal function. For example, TSH 'normal' is 0.4–4.0, but most people feel best at 1.0–2.0. Estradiol 'normal' for a postmenopausal woman can be 10 pg/mL — but symptoms of deficiency are significant at that level. We interpret your results against functional optimal ranges, which often reveals the answer your standard panel missed.

What is bioidentical hormone therapy?

Bioidentical hormones are chemically identical to the hormones your body naturally produces — unlike synthetic hormones, which have a different molecular structure. BHRT is typically prescribed as topical creams or troches (dissolving tablets) customized to your exact dose. We use the lowest effective dose to relieve symptoms and monitor regularly.

Can men benefit from hormone testing?

Absolutely. Testosterone decline begins in men's 30s and accelerates with age. Low testosterone causes fatigue, low libido, muscle loss, weight gain, brain fog, and mood changes. We assess total and free testosterone alongside other hormonal and metabolic markers to understand the full picture.
